Islamabad: Lack of facilities, overcrowding, poor security, unhygienic conditions, lack of beds and impolite behavior of staff are constant sources of irritation for patients and visitors alike.

Federal government services hospital, commonly known as Poly Clinic is one of the oldest hospital of Islamabad. Presently around seven thousand to eight thousand visitors come to the hospital on daily bases but no extra arrangements have been made to meet the growing needs of the patients. During the visit to the facility, it was observed that long queues of patients, including women and men could be seen at the outpatient department (OPD) throughout the day. There are no proper waiting arrangements for elderly, serious patients. Furthermore, there are not proper cleanliness arrangements within the premises of the hospital.

The genitourial staff was paying no attention in showing any responsibility towards their job. As summer has reached patience along with their attendants were starving for drinking water facility and had to buy all increase prices from the tuck shop. There is no proper parking facility in the hospital. Patience have to walk long way to reach OPD and their concern departments. It seems that the hospital is being over looked for years and need immediate attention from the authorities especially from the ministry of capital administration and development (CAD).

The public of Islamabad demands the increase in the no. Of beds, doctors, paramedic staff pharmacy and
basic facilities which should be available at any modern, develop state of the art hospital of the country.
