ISLAMABAD: Climate Change ministry has evolved plan to launch a new tree plantation campaign titled “ one plant for every home” to make residential areas of federal capital green.
According to media reports under this plan saplings of different varieties will be planted in 8000 homes in Islamabad. The project will be formally inaugurated in the second week of February and it will continue till the end of the said month.
Sources said that students from different universities will plant one sapling in each home in different sectors of Islamabad under this campaign.
Ministry of climate change has worked out lists of 130 students from universities for making this campaign a success. These students will render this service voluntarily. Certificates and shields will however be distributed among these students on the completion of this drive.
