Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) A three-days inter-colleges girls badminton championship under the auspices of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi kicked off here Saturday at Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rawalpindi, Saima Zahoor inaugurated the championship. Sports Incharge, Government Post Graduate College for women, Safoora Jabeen, Director Sports Education Board, Sobia Sultana, Director Sports Nighat Shaheen Raja and other officials attended the opening ceremony. Students from thirteen colleges are participating in the championship.
ADC, Saima Zahoor addressing the inaugural ceremony said it was a welcoming step that female students are taking part in sports besides playing role in circular activities. She lauded role of heads of educational institutions and sports instructors, in this regard. She further said that students participating in sports can kindle the name of nation and the country. She said government has provided every possible facilities to them.
Saima Zahoor said that huge funds have been provided to district government Rawalpindi for provision of modern facilities. She said grounds of international standard have been built so that students could participate in games and collect the successes
