Tragic death of an AJK law maker, PTI Stalwart Sardar Sagheer Chughtai, 03 others in Road accident

MIRPUR (AJK),(Parliament Times) : Member Azad Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly and Candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for Scheduled July 25 AJK General Elections, Sardar Muhammad Saghir Chughtai died, besides three other persons, as his vehicle skidded into Jhelum river, after clashing with a car near Azad Patan in Kahuta Sub division of Rawalpindi, Friday morning. The ill-fated learned Kashmiri Parliamentarian Sardar Muhammad Saghir Chughtai was on way to Rawalakot from Rawalpindi when he met the accident at about 7:00 am this morning, AJK civil authorities told this Correspondent on Friday, when contacted.

Both the vehicles could not be traced from the fast speeding currents of the deep~watered river at the site till the last reports came in. The MISHAP left at least four of the persons travelling in the two vehicles including driver of Mr. Saghir Chughtai as they drowned in the river, according to authorities.

Rescue teams are hectically engaged in for recovery of the bodies from the river. Sardar Saghir Chughtai was recently nominated as Candidate of the PTI from AJK’s Electoral Constituency LA-22 Rawalakot, Poonch Division, for AJK Legislative Assembly Elections scheduled to be held on July 25 this year. Chughtai had, in the recent past, parted ways from the All Jammu & Kashmir Muslim Conference, and joined the PTI AJK to contest the scheduled AJK elections.
