MIRPUR ( AJK), (Parliament Times) : :Local Legal Fraternity has congratulated Kashmir-origin Barrister Azhar Iqbal on his appointment as a judge of United Kingdom judiciary by the British government.
Barrister Azhar Iqbal’s family, it may be mentioned here, hails from Faizpur Sharif area of District Mirpur Azad Jammu Kashmir.
Our Special Jammu and Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Mirpur that in a Special session of the newly-elected office bearers of the District Bar Association Mirpur AJK held here Tuesday with the DBA President Ch Shakeel Zaman Advocate in the chair, speakers including Ch Shakeel Zaman Advocate, President, Sardar Muhammad Shakeel Khan Advocate, Vice President, Ch Muhammad Bashir Tabassum Advocate, Secretary General, Muhammad Furqan Ali Advocate Joint Secretary, Hassan Aslam Jarral Advocate, Secretary Finanace, Raja Danyal Khadim Advocate, Secretary Information, Aqsa Younis Advocate, Secretary Laibrary congratulated to Barrister Azhar Iqbal on his exceptional achievement as appointment of the judge in British judiciary in acknowledgement of his outstanding professional skills and vast experience in the legal field.
” It is, indeed, proudly moments for whole State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir”, they said.
While speaking on this occasion, the DBA office bearers said “It is, indeed, a matter of great pride for us that the British government has appointed a Kashmiri origin as a judge for the first time”, they added.
“It is quite heartwarming to see the Kashmiri expatriate community’s significant contribution to British society”, the DBA President Ch. Shakeel Zaman Advocate said while addressing the house.
While speaking on this occasion, DBA Secretary General Ch. Bashir Tabassum Advocate expressed good wishes for the Kashmir origin Barrister Azhar Iqbal, the newly appointed judge of England judiciary.
The DBA office bearers wished that as a vibrant community the Kashmiri diaspora in the UK should also raise their voices for the resolution of the Kashmir problem and use their political clout to help stop the ongoing Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu Kashmir State.
