QUETTA,   (Parliament Times) :  Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan chaired the meeting of the governing body of Gwadar Development Authority in Balochistan. The CM proposed budget for the financial year 2020-21 and also revised budget for the financial year 2019-2. He also proposed amendments in Gwadar Building Regulation 2020, from town planning and related matters. Meanwhile, approval of various development projects, deployment of experts on contract basis, provision of medical insurance facilities for GDA employees and other important matters were also reviewed in the meeting.

Member Provincial Assembly Mir Hamal Kalmati, Chief Secretary Balochistan Capt (R) Fazil Asghar, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Abdul Sabur Kakar, Secretary Finance Pasand Khan Baledi, DG Gwadar Development Authority Shahzeb Kakar, DG Public Relations Imran Zarkoon, and Gwadar Port Authority Chairman Naseer Kashani and a representative of the Planning Commission were also present on the occasion through that video link.

Briefing the meeting on the agenda points, DG Gwadar Development Authority Shahzaib Kakar said that timely completion of all development projects is being ensured while ensuring implementation of Gwadar Master Plan. The DG has proposed amendments in Gwadar Building Regulation 2020 to make it one phase instead of two phases, NOC on regularization of finished buildings, construction of water channels for storm water drainage, model customs collectorate various projects. He also briefed on other issues including approval of KPC-1, lease finance arrangement. The Chief Minister while expressing his views on the occasion said that utility corridor should be kept in mind in the construction of roads. The population will benefit greatly. He directed that the use of standard materials in the construction of buildings should be ensured. He said that GDA should take steps for the use of boats, day tour buses and vehicles equipped with cultural arts to promote tourism. He directed that roads and buildings should be constructed in this manner but the green belt should not be affected. The Chief Minister said that good service and infrastructure improves the institutions. He said that private members should also be included in the GDA Board and participation of private partners should also be ensured. “Allah Almighty has blessed Balochistan with immense resources and good governance and good policies will have a positive impact on the entire province”, he concluded the speech.
