Assistant Director Shazeera Maryam while giving a briefing said that according to the instructions of the Punjab government and to make the environment safe, the use of shopping bags has been started from June 5. A complete ban is being imposed on them. He said that an awareness campaign has been started in this regard and consultations are ongoing with all stakeholders in this regard. Strict legal action should be taken on the commercial use of plastic shopping bags after June 5. Speaking on the occasion, ADCG Attock said that this decision of the Punjab government is very welcome, and will help in keeping the environment clean. He said that important decisions in this regard should take all stakeholders into confidence.
