Mir Ali Hassan Zehri

QUETTA,  (Parliament Times) : Pakistan’s economy runs on the tail of our hardworking workers. At present, workers, office workers, farm workers, laborers and other government and non-government organizations are working in the conditions of the world. They cannot be considered as idols while working. These views were expressed by Provincial Advisor for Industry and Trade Mir Ali Hassan Zehri in his congratulatory message on the occasion of Labor Day. He said that the workers around the world take out rallies for their rights today and today is celebrated as the victory of the workers against the exploitative powers. In the city of Chicago on May 1, 1886, a peaceful protest to reduce their working hours from 16 hours to 8 hours was fired by the police – the workers had white flags in their hands as a symbol of peace – dozens of workers were shot by the police. Labor leaders were hanged, one of whom, Angel, put the noose around his neck and said, “Capitalist, you can kill us, but you can’t end our movement.” The tragedy affected the workers of the whole world and they were connected in an ideological relationship.

Provincial Adviser for Industry and Trade Mir Ali Hassan Zehri further said that Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was a socialist and public leader, PPP is a public ideological party. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto formally issued the first comprehensive labor policy for workers and laborers in 1972. According to this policy, the working hours of the workers were fixed at 8 hours, they were given social security – old age benefit was given, workers welfare fund was established and job security was protected, insurance policy was issued for the workers – industries and corporations. It was decided to keep the workers’ share in the profits, free education and health facilities were provided to the children of the workers, A dowry fund was established for the daughters of the workers, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto also announced a public holiday on May 1. On Labor Day, he himself used to lead the workers’ rally and the current leadership of the People’s Party and Jayala are still following his footsteps.

He said that there should be and all possible measures will be taken in this regard and efforts will be made to strictly implement the prevailing laws to improve the conditions of the workers while immediate and emergency measures will be taken for further improvement in these laws. By implementing these measures, the requirements of solidarity with the workers can be fulfilled.
