MIRPUR (AJK): A complete shutdown across Indian-occupied Kashmir valley on Sunday was observed against the targeting of Kashmiris in Jammu and other Indian states in the backdrop of Lethpora Pulwama suicide attack, says a report reaching here Sunday from across the line of Control.

The report continued that the shutdown call given by trade bodies in major Sriangar city and rest of the Kashmir valley had a thorough response on ground with transport remaining off the roads, business establishments remaining shut and all major roads wearing a deserted look.

Trade bodies in protest of the attacks launched against Kashmiris presently staying in Jammu as well as the Indian states including Delhi, Banglore and others.

As per the report the trade bodies have already warned the Indian government not to harass and target Kashmiri Muslims who are staying outside valley in connection with studies, business and employment.

To foil protest demonstrations, the puppet state administration in Kashmir valley had taken requisite precautionary measures including suspension of internet services, imposition of restriction in already violence infested old city areas of occupied Srinagar.

The report revealed that heavy additional deployment of armed security personnel was made in various volatile areas to thwart any law and order disruption.

Meanwhile in a bid to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir presently staying in Jammu and convey her concern over their security to the state administration, Peoples Democratic Party President and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday reached Jammu. However according to reports she was not allowed to enter into the PDP head office located in Gandhi Nagar area of the hindu-majority region.

The PDP’s Jammu office was sealed by police and all senior leaders of the party who were helping evacuate people were restrained inside the party office, the report said. Those who were stuck inside the sealed office till the last reports came in include top PDP leaders Nizam-u-Din Bhat, Parliament Member Fayaz Mir, former legislators Aijaz Mir, Noor Mohammad, senior leader Abdul Qayoom Wani, Parvez Khan Wafa and several others.

Meanwhile severe condemnations continue to pour in against the attacks on civilian Kashmiri population in hindu-majority Jammu city and adjoining areas by the heavily armed fanatic hindu mob in several areas of the region, the report added
