Torrential rain on Saturday accompanied with thunderstorm turned the weather pleasant in the city providing the residents much needed respite from the sizzling heat. The mercury, which increased to 43 degree Celsius, the hottest days of the season, came down after rainfall. The people praying for the rain from the last few days have a sigh of relief over the rain and stepped out their homes to enjoy the weather after rainfall. The nearby villages also received rain.
The heavy rain lashed the city and waterlogged many localities which led to clogging of many roads. The motorists and motorcyclists got stuck in different parts and the roads were almost flooded. The rainwater entered shops and houses, especially in low-lying localities. Flooded roads due to garbage and polythene bags that stuck in drains, caused inconvenience to the pedestrians and motorists. Zhob has a creaky civic infrastructure, as the city’s drainage system failed to flush out the water that remained accumulated till late at night.
