Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that summoning Hurriyat leaders to New Delhi shows frustration of Indian authorities.

Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the NIA (National Investigation Agency) and ED (Enforcement Directorate) drama was being played by New Delhi to divert attention from the ongoing genocide in the occupied territory. He termed the questioning of Dr Bilquees, wife of Shabbir Ahmad Shah, by ED and summoning of Naseem Gilani and Nayeem Gilani, sons of Syed Ali Gilani, by the NIA as revengeful politics.

The JKLF Chairman said that Indian media was being used as a tool to defame and discredit the resistance leadership and freedom struggle of Kashmiris. “This new NIA and ED onslaught is bound to fail,” he said. He condemned the illegal detention of resistance leaders, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Shahid-ul-Islam, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Merajuddin Kalwal, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Farooq Ahmad Dar and Devendar Singh Behal. He said that Indian rulers and their Kashmiri stooges were actually playing politics in the name of corruption and terror funding.

Yasin Malik said on one side, arrests, so-called investigations and serving notices even to relatives and family members of Hurriyat leaders continue unabated and on the other, a full-fledged media trial on biased Indian news channels and papers is going on.

“Indians are saying that Kashmiri students on whom parents spent lacs are protesting and bearing pellets and bullets for a few hundred rupees. They want to make their people believe that in Kashmir everything is right barring only few corrupt people who are hoodwinking whole Kashmir Valley and causing trouble,” the JKLF chairman said.

“It is actually an old tactic of colonial and occupational forces to defame people in resistance. Such mean and oppressive tactics will always fail to break the will and resolve of people who have decided to fight for their freedom and self-determination, he added.

The JKLF chief said that during last 70 years, India had killed lacs, maimed, blinded, arrested, tortured and oppressed thousands in occupied Kashmir but failed to intimidate the Kashmiris into submission and now it had started this new NIA and ED onslaught which was also bound to fail.
