MIRPUR: (Parliament Times) Azad Jammu & Kashmir government is going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korean government for the installation of Rs. 8 billion high power transmission lines network in Azad Jammu Kashmir in the near future.
This was disclosed by AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan while addressing a mammoth public gathering at Islamgarh Degree College in outskirt of Mirpur Monday evening. The mega project would not only to help in electrifying rest parts of AJK but also to replace the existing lines with the latest network of the high power transmission lines in the state, the PM added.
The Prime Minister said that his government was encouraging private sector for the generation of hydel power in the state which, he added, is enriched with huge natural potential for the purpose. Raja Farooq Haider Khan said that his popularly-elected PML (N) government was equally paying attention for the promotion of tourism to overcome the problem of unemployment in the region. “Fully furnished tourism resorts will be constructed on coasts of huge scenic Mangla reservoir to attract maximum of tourists both from home and abroad”, he announced.
The AJK Prime Minister said that similar hotels and motels will be constructed at the picturesque sites of the top mountainous Neelam, Leepa, Palandri and Rawalakot valleys under broad-based the tourism uplift plan. Referring to a local demand, Raja Farooq Haider Khan revealed that his government is going to open new vistas of opportunities for the employment of jobless educated youth besides for the women empowerment.
Earlier, AJK’s senior minister Ch. Tariq Farooq, minister for sports, youth and culture, Ch. Muhammad Saeed, Information minister Raja Mushtaq Minhas and local PML (N) leader Abdul Maalik and others assured the masses of the dispensation of all possible latest facilities of life committed by the PML (N) in its pre-AJK elections commitments. Speakers said that the PML (N) government is determined to fulfill its pledges made with people during general elections.
