Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times)Â Â Secretary Information and Information Technology, Mansoor Qadir Dar has said Press Information Department (PID) of AJK government would be modernized by providing new technology for better its performance. Addressing the officers and staff members of the department after he was briefed about the functioning of the department, the Secretary urged them to take advantage of new technologies, improve the performance and enhance the prestige of the department. The secretary information expressed his resolve to develop more cordial relations with diversifying media of the state to promote and highlight Kashmir liberation struggle and assured the officers of the department to resolve their problems on priority. He also announced that services of temporary employees of the department would be regularized by bringing them on normal budget, launching of new projects and creation of two new vacancies in the department with the aim to improve the efficiency of the department. He directed the officials and employees to perform with responsibility to bring good name to the department. He said information department would be expanded up to all districts of AJK with reforms in the existing structure. Earlier Director General Raja PID, Azhar Iqbal briefed the Secretary about the department’s issues and told that the officers of the department are discharging their responsibilities with honesty and dedication despite numerous problems being faced by them. The DG told that for the first time after long period of time, the department has its own building for offices however there is still a lot to do for the achievement of desired performance of the department.
