RAWALPINDI,  (Parliament Times) : An Australian based non-governmental organization (NGO) distributed eid package among the deserving and poor females of Taxila and Wah on Wednesday. The NGO Women’s Advancement and Vocational Education (WAVE) with collaboration with Australian Islamic college of Sydney and their local counterparts Shahnaz and Basheer education trust (SBM) distributed eid gift to 150 deserving and poor females of twin cities of Taxila and Wah so that they could enjoy the blessings of the eid like other faithful’s.

Shazia Azhar- a local volunteer speaking on this occasion has said that the holy month of Ramadan provides an opportunity to share the problems and worries of less privileged sections of society who are deprived of basic necessities of life. She said that the purpose of the Eid package is to enable these segments to celebrate Eid in a befitting manner. “While the day of Eid is about self-sacrifice and love, it also teaches to comfort the needy and the deserving and to share their happiness with them”. She added.

Speaking on this occasion, Hassan Nazeer- Vice Chairman Shahnaz and Basheer education trust (SBM) has said that the NGO with collaboration with INGOs and NGOs has executed various community services, donor and welfare projects in rural areas of Pakistan especially South Punjab, KP, Azad Kashmir, Balochistan and Sindh. He was of the view that the initiative aims to awaken a realization among the affluent people to take care of their destitute sisters. said on the occasion that the holy month was all about sacrifice and selflessness. He said that we should endeavor to give due place to the poorest of the poor by including them in the mainstream of life.

While revealing success stories of NGO, Basheer Malik, Founder and Chairman Women’s Advancement and Vocational Education (WAVE) Australia has said that during NGO’s relief work in Pakistan, around one million mosquitoes net were distributed among displaced persons of flood in various town of South Punjab including around one million mosquitoes net were distributed among displaced persons of flood in various town of South Punjab, food packages were distributed among flood affected people of South Punjab and Balochistan, the residents of 250 villages were provided clean drinking water in Tharparkar Sindh, Ramadan ration and eid packages are distributed among poor and marginalized segments of society would be accommodated, wheel chairs were distributed among the special children especially various cities of KP and 250 community water pumps installed in Sind and South Punjab. He added that the NGO also funded construction of two school buildings in AJK.
