MUZAFFARABAD/MIRPUR (AJK),  (Parliament Times) :  While participating in the debate on the draft of the 15th constitutional amendment, Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, while participating in the debate on the draft law presented in the House, said that local body elections will be held in Azad Kashmir as soon as possible so that the power can be transferred to the lower level and the local bodies could also be active. The Prime Minister said that apart from this, we are also restoring the numbering system in Azad Kashmir. He said that the issues of constituencies and electoral lists will also be unified. He said that it is necessary for all political parties to agree on the conduct of local body elections. He said that parliamentary boards will be formed at divisional, district and tehsil levels. Apart from this, we are taking all possible steps to conduct local elections after taking all other necessary steps. He said that steps are being taken on priority basis by the government to conduct transparent, impartial elections in Azad Kashmir. Azad Kashmir Prime Minister said that a 1500 percent increase in the living allowance of refugees has also been implemented. He said that the Ministry of Finance has issued instructions to speed up the process and to increase the pension and salary in order to obtain funds from the federal government for the increase in salaries and pensions. The Prime Minister said that we are sure that the federal government will remove the obstacles in increasing the salary and pension of the employees. The Prime Minister said that the implementation of free electricity supply to all the mosques of Azad Kashmir has started. He said that the arrears of 7 billion rupees for fuel adjustment are going on from the previous period. Azad Kashmir Prime Minister said that electricity consumers in Azad Kashmir will not be burdened by fuel adjustment and other taxes. He said that a committee of the House should be formed to make the Chairman WAPDA accountable in the matter of Mirpur Mangala victims. He said that provision of all possible facilities to electricity consumers in Azad Kashmir is being ensured. The Prime Minister said that the victims of Mangla have sacrificed their ancestors’ graves. We are taking steps on a priority basis for their problems.
The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir said that steps are being taken to provide facilities to the people of Azad Kashmir wherever electricity is generated.
