Muslim around the globe and specially from Lehigh Valley are saddened and shock by the killing of Al Jazeera Palestinian-American veteran journalist Sister Shireen Abu Akleh in occupied West Bank. An icon and highly respected Christian journalist known to millions of her unwavering and persistent coverages of the brutality of Israel forces in the occupied territories. She was a household name synonymous with Al Jazeera’s coverage of life under sixty years of occupation.She covered killing of the Palestinian youths, continuous expansion of Jewish settlement, eviction, destroying Palestinian homes and bombing of Gaza and Lebanon.Adding insult to the injury, Zionist occupation forces raided her home as the family gathered to offer condolences.Our deepest sympathy and condolences over her martyrdom to her family and Palestinians.Journalist Shireen was covering an Israeli regime army raid on the Jenin refugee camp when she murdered by Israel forces.The Israel occupying forces have recently been deliberately targeting journalist to prevent reporting of brutality of Israel forces. Shooting in the face in-spite wearing a helmet, and press vest that clearly marked her as “press” reporter is clear violation international treaties and laws by the occupying Israel regime.This was blatant execution, and heinous crime which should be independently investigated to bring Zionist regime to justice.Congress women Susan Wild who is on the Foreign Relation Committee should conduct an independent investigation into the killing of the veteran women journalist and hold Zionist regime to account for its crime.
