Jehum Valley: Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir appealed the masses to join the historic protest on International Human Rights Day.

While addressing a press conference in Hattian Bala, Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmad Ghazali said that it is imperative to highlight Indian atrocities to the world conscience as innocent Kashmiri are being killed by Indian armed forces every day.

“A protest sit-in will be held at Chakoti near Ceasefire Line on International Human Rights Day against the worst human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K)”, he stated.

While talking about the schedule, he said that the morning caravan would reach Chakothi from Muzaffarabad, Ghari Dupatta, Hatian Balan and adjacent Chinari towns on foot where a protest sit-in against Indian military oppression would be held after Friday prayers.

He further lamented that India has turned the entire state into a prison where millions of people have been forced to live in fear of death while many of them are living miserable lives in Indian prisons.

He cautioned that Indian state terrorism in IIOJ&K could be a threat to peace in South Asia.

Ghazali appealed the United Nations to take strong measures to fulfill the promise of right to self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He also appealed to the zealous people of Jehlum Valley to join the sit-in against Indian brutality after Friday prayers at Chakoti.

Meanwhile, representatives of Pasban-e-Hurriyat including Vice Chairman Usman Ali Hashim and others also met the journalists, businessmen, political and religious leaders of Chakoti, Chinari and Hatian Bala and invited them to join the protest.
