Rawalpindi,  (Parliament Times): Under privileged segments of the society including widows, senior citizens, orphan students and safaid posh families were given warm quilts under the arrangements of Jinnah Iqbal South Asian forum in connection with the celebration of Iqbal Day. The special ceremony of “Quilt Gifts Distributions II” was held here in Mian Hayat Bakhsh Hall of Anjuman Faizul Islam Faizabad Markar on Tuesday.

Ex Federal Secretary Muzaffar M. Qureshi was the chief guest while Col. Bakhtiar Hakeem of Thinkers Forum of Pakistan presided over the event. Chairman of Jinnah Iqbal South Asian Forum Rana Abdul Baqi, ex member Punjab Bar Council Sajjad Akbar Abbasi, Dr. Mrs. Sabahat, other office bearers of the forum, widows and other deserving people were present on this occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Ex Federal Secretary Muzaffar M. Qureshi said that JISAF has chosen the exceptional way of paying tributes to our national poet Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal by distributing warm quilts among the deserving ones. “Dr. Iqbal wanted to lend helping hands towards those who have nots and JISAF is fulfilling this desire of our national hero’, he added. He also paid tributes to Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal and asked the people, especially youth to read and understand the message of Iqbal and apply the same in their practical life. “You can achieve the height of success by following the path told by our national poet”, he mentioned.

Col. ( R ) Bakhtiar Hakeem said that the message of Iqbal was nothing but crux of the education of the Holy Qura’an in simple and understandable way. He said Iqbal wished his nation’s youth to be the kind hearted as he expressed this wish as “May supportive of the poor my life’s way be, May loving the old, the suffering my way be”.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Jinnah Iqbal South Asian Forum Rana Abdul Baqi underlined the need of spreading social services. He said those who are blessed by Allah with resources should come forward to help the deprived segments of the society. Rana told that more than 400 warm quilts have so far been distributed among the deserving people under the arrangements of JISAF. On this occasion, more than 120 widows and deserving people were given double warm blankets in second phase. Sajjad Akbar Abbasi Advocate led the collective duaa at the end of the ceremony.
