Srinagar: Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK)’s Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement (JKMM) on Saturday said that Indian troops had waged a war on the unarmed people of the territory to intimidate them into submission.
According to a report by Kashmir Media Service (KMS), JKMM Information Secretary, Shabbir Ahmed in a statement issued in Srinagar said the life, property, honour and dignity of Kashmiri people are not safe due to the presence of hundreds of thousands of Indian troops in IIOJK. He said human rights violations by the troops have been going on for the last several decades but after 05 August 2019 the Indian state terrorism has witnessed an alarming upsurge in the territory.
The JKMM leader said the silence of the international community and the world human rights organizations on the grim situation in IIOJK is not only regrettable but also reprehensible. He said that the United Nations and other international bodies must hold India accountable for its brutalities in the occupied territory and play their role in settling the Kashmir dispute for ensuring permanent peace in South Asia.
