ISLAMABAD,(Parliament Times): Russian women diplomats felicitated Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association (PFOWA) on Pakistan Day. A Pakistan Day cake was cut on the occasion. Ekaterina Shematinova, a women diplomat from embassy of Russia in Pakistan, also presented a gift to a representative of the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association on behalf of the Russian women diplomats.
Pakistan and Russia have friendly relations. Russia and Pakistan are members of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. The two countries also hold joint military exercises. Similarly, delegations are also exchanged between the two countries. Future Team Pakistan youth delegation participated in the 19th World Festival for Youth and Students 2017 in Sochi-Russia, which was the biggest youth gathering with over 30,000 youth from worldwide.
Earlier, president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin sent his congratulatory message on Pakistan Day to president of Pakistan Arif Alvi and prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan. In his message, he emphasised upon friendly relations of Pakistan and Russia and cooperation of two countries in counter terrorism as well as in Afghan peace process.
