Chairperson National Commission for Child Rights Afshan Tehseen Bajwa said that drug addiction is dangerous.The government is using its resources to rid society of drugs.Along with government initiatives, parents should also focus on educating their children. A healthy young generation is the bright future of Pakistan.

Chairperson National Commission for Child Rights Afshan Tehseen Bajwa met yesterday Sana Ullah Ghumman, General Secretary, Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH),Malik Imran, Country Head, Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids (CTFK),Khalil Ahmed, spokesperson of the Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Children (SPARC).During a special meeting with Chairperson National Commission for Child Rights Afshan Tehseen Bajwa, the deligation participants appreciated the practical efforts made for the welfare of their children.

On this occasion, it was unanimously deligation participants agreed that in order to build a drug-free society, it is necessary for the government to use its full resources, as smoking is the first step towards becoming addicted to drugs.The use of nicotine pouches VELO continues to increase in the younger generation after smoking, which we do not need. Younger generation and especially our young girls are being pushed towards VELO.

Chairperson National Commission for Child Rights Afshan Tehseen Bajwa said that the government was devoting its energies to create a drug free society.It is also the parents’ responsibility to tell the difference between the good and the bad. Therefore, parents should pay special attention to the training of their children.So that the children themselves stay away from drugs and instruct others to do the same. PANAH CTFK, SPARC’s positive efforts on children should be appriciated.

On the occasion, Chairperson National Commission for Child Rights Afshan Tahseen Bajwa agreed with the principled position of the delegation and said that VELO is a threat to the health of the young generation, it must be kept out of their reach.

PANAH General Secretary Sana Ullah Ghumman, CTFK Country Head Imran, SPARC Spokesman Khalil Ahmad has appealed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan that VELO is a curse.VELO should be banned immediately to save the future of the young generation.
