LAHORE:   Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that PDM plans of the no-confidence motion in Federal and Punjab will flop. Prime Minister Imran Khan wants to put an end to horse trading and stamp out corruption from the country, but the opposition is becoming an obstacle. It is the constitutional and democratic right of the government and Prime Minister Imran Khan to complete the constitutional term till 2023. He was addressing the media and was speaking on the occasion of the ‘Men & Women Awards 2021’ distribution ceremony to acknowledge the extraordinary accomplishments of women in various sectors. Chairperson Sarwar Foundation Begum Perveen Sarwar was present among others.

Replying to questions, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that Imran Khan still sticks to his ideological and principled politics adding that Imran Khan always rises to the challenges in all circumstances. The government is going to bring electoral reforms in order to purge Parliament and democracy of corruption, adding he said if the opposition wants to end corruption, then they should support the government in this legislation. Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that the government has no threat from the opposition and the public stands with the PTI Government. Pakistan is facing many problems including economic ones due to ineffective policies of the previous government, but PTI will be successful in resolving these issues, he added.

Addressing the function, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that we are proud that Pakistani women are contributing in various fields including sports and IT, adding that the women’s enhanced participation in business sectors is also commendable. Therefore, the women should be encouraged as their empowerment will ultimately lead to the country’s prosperity.

Addressing the event, the wife of Governor Punjab, Begum Perveen Sarwar, said that women must be given equal opportunities as it will result in progress and development of the country. Women bring respect to society, she said.

Earlier, IG Punjab Inam Ghani called on Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar at Governor’s House Lahore.During the meeting, matters related to law and order situation were discussed. IG Punjab apprised Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar about the HRMIS system that has brought transparency in transfer and posting matters.

Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that oppression and injustice will not be tolerated under any circumstances and the police should dispense justice to the common men. Merit and transparency are essential for eradication of ‘’Thana Culture’’. The culture of nepotism always destroys the institutions; therefore, political interference is being eliminated from the Police Department.
