SHEIKHUPURA: At least 13 people on Monday have lost their lives while 15 others sustained severe injuries in a dreadful collision between a toyota van and bus due to heavy fog in Narang Mandi near Sheikhupura.
The Rescue 1122 teams and security personnel, on receiving information about the mishap, arrived at the scene and shifted the victims to a nearby hospital.
According to Rescue sources, the gas cylinder installed in the van also exploded after the crash and both of the vehicles caught fire, due to which several passengers got scorched and both of the vehicles burnt to ashes.
Operation was also launched to clear the road.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed deepest grief and sorrow on the loss of precious human lives in the dreadful traffic incident near Sheikhupura.
CM Punjab, while directing to provide the best facilities to the victims of the incident, asked the administration officers and elected members to monitor the medical assistance provided to the victims.
