MUZAFFARABAD:  (Parliament Times)    The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan has highly lauded the role of friendly courtiers, international organization and institutions, OIC and Asian Development Bank for their vibrant financial support for the reconstruction and development of the earthquake affected areas of Azad Kashmir.

He was addressing a ceremony held in connection with the inauguration of Government Girls High school Plate completed at a cost of over 51 million rupees funded by the OIC and IDB here on Thursday.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated the financial assistance extended by Asian Development Bank for the reconstruction of more than 315 educational institutions throughout Azad Jammu and Kashmir which were damaged due to the devastating earthquake in Azad Kashmir.

He said a major catastrophic earthquake of 7.6 magnitudes on 8th of October 2005 resulted in a large scale of devastation including deaths and injuries and destruction of the private and public infrastructure.

The Prime Minister highly commended the overwhelming response of the national and international community through their support in relief and rehabilitation activities which helped the state to compensate the losses and to bring life again in the earthquake devastated areas of the state and added that about 2800 educational institutions were damaged badly due to catastrophic damage.

The Secretary SERRA speaking on the occasion said that the school building has been completed with the financial support of OIC and ADB to accommodate over 400 students from Primacy to High school ,The students and teachers of the school also highly appreciated the role of Azad Kashmir government, OIC and ADB for the reconstruction of the school building and provision of furniture and equipment which will help improve the teaching and learning condition.
