QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan has said that the basic infrastructure of Balochistan Water and Sanitation Authority will be put on modern lines which will help in overcoming water issues.
He was chairing a meeting held in Quetta to review the development and administrative affairs of the Water and Sanitation Authority and Public Health Engineering departments.
Emphasizing the need to regularize the water related issues, the Chief Minister said that water scarcity in Quetta could be overcome through resolving problems of Balochistan WASA.
The meeting was apprised that the construction work on Mangi Dam is underway with the cost of 9.3 billion rupees while feasibility report of Burj Aziz, Babar Kach and Halak Dams is being prepared.
The meeting decided to present the draft of Balochistan Water Act 2020 to the provincial cabinet for approval.
