Bagh:   (Parliament Times)   Minister for Information, Tourism, Sports and Youth Affairs Raja Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas has said that as per the vision of Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider, steps were being taken to make AJK a tourist destination.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday the information said that the tourism sector in the region was badly hit by the Coronavirus. He said that efforts were under way to revive tourism in the liberated territory of Azad Kashmir. He was of the view that there was a dire need to adopt a model of developed countries to promote tourism in the AJK. He said that it was imperative that the tourists should take care of the SOPs. He said that Azad Kashmir has the potential to attract a large number of tourists due to its attractive places but if there were no facilities then tourists won’t come again.

He said that all departments should work together to ensure the provision of basic amenities in the most attractive places. The Information Minister said that many countries in Europe and Asia depend on their tourism. He appreciated the performance of Secretary Information and Tourism Ms. Madhat Shehzad and DG Tourism Ansar Pirzada.
