ZHOB: Para Medical Staff Association Zhob chapter staged a protest demonstration – following the SOP of social distancing, against the provincial government for ignoring the frontline health workers fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic here at the District Headquarters civil hospital. The protest was attended by Para medics in a large number despite fasting and sizzling heat.

Addressing the protesters, PPMA District President Muhammad Tahir Hotak said that following the spread of Covid-19 pandemic across the globe, particularly in Pakistan, both the federal and provincial governments announced incentives for those health workers fighting on the frontline against coronavirus, but the incompetent provincial government of Balochistan, instead of providing them privileges, initiated an inquiry against the staff members in Quetta. PPMA condemns the act of the government in strongest words. He called upon the provincial government to give additional basic salary to all the health staff working at the government-run hospitals without any discrimination.

“Para medical staff Zhob has always rendered sacrifices and played key role for the rights of health staff and vowed to continue its struggle for their rights in every nook and corner of the province,” he said.

He further said that the federal government and the KP government had announced a basic salary for those who are battling against the virus, but in Balochistan, those who are fighting on the frontline have been completely ignored and the blue eyed have been obliged. He alleged. Paramedics wore black armbands and hoisted black flag on hospital building in protest.
