Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has condemned in strong terms the arrest of Tariq Ahmad Shah and his daughter Insha Jan by NIA in connection with the Pulwama attack case.
Terming it a serious violation of basic human rights DFP spokesman in a statement here on Thursday said, “The imperialistic tool to terrorize and humiliate Kashmiris and their family members has been the most preferred weapon of the NIA authorities having the worst track record of implicating Kashmiris in false and frivolous cases”. He said that during the past couple of years NIA had launched a massive crackdown against Kashmiris in which socio-political activists, rights activists, businessmen were arrested on trumped up charges. “The so-called investigation authorities did not even spare the Kashmir women who happen to be the worst victims of the conflict”, he said adding that arresting of father-daughter duo is part of the sinister design to instill fear among Kashmiris. The DFP spokesman appealed the world human rights bodies to take serious notice of the matter and build up pressure on India to put an end to harassment and terrorizing Kashmiris and their families.
