RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has chalked a comprehensive plan to handle any emergency in the monsoon season.

According to details, the civic body has formed eight different units including forecasting unit, complaint unit, dewatering unit, rescue unit, sanitation unit, road clearance unit, medical unit and survey team to tackle any emergency caused due to the heavy rain.

Each unit will be headed by a senior officer accompanied by supporting staff and will be available round the clock to respond in case of any emergency is reported.

Dangerous buildings within the Cantonment limit will be identified by building Inspectors and immediate notices will be served to avoid any accident while land superintendent will be responsible for its implementation.

All the employees are directed to perform duties even on Sunday or holidays during the flood season.

In case of any emergency or accident the rehabilitation of rescued people will be made in Buildings of Cantonment Board Dispensaries or Schools.

According to the emergency plan, the additional Chief Executive Officer (Addl. CEO) will call for the additional help / Force from the sister Cantonments and other institutions if so required and in case the situation become so worst and alarming one then an immediate request shall be made for Army Support.

The cantonment board has also displayed helpline number on hoarding boards at different locations of the city.
