Seeks lifting of ban on the party,
Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Terming continued detention of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and ban on the party as illegal the acting chairman of JKLF Abdul Hamid Butt has said that the international community should immediately intervene and stress upon India to release JKLF chairman and lift ban on the political organization.
While addressing the participants of the JKLF meeting, JKLF acting chairman said that the continued detention of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, who is lodged at Tihar Jail Delhi is totally unlawful, arbitrary and political victimization of a senior political leader. He said that Indian state since a long time has been subjecting the people of Jammu Kashmir to worst kind of aggression and oppression but in recent times the level of suppression has raised to enormous heights. He said that on one hand Indian rulers are busy employing undemocratic tactics to suppress Kashmiris and on other hand are boasting about being the biggest and vibrant democracy which is ridiculous and absurd. He said that it is Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and its chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik who on the appeal and counseling of the international community especially US, UK and EU declared a unilateral ceasefire in 1994 and started its non-violent campaign. This was a most risky decision taken by Yasin Malik and the JKLF, who took this decision and adhered to it despite numerous provocations. It is the JKLF and its leader Muhammad Yasin Malik who promoted and propagated peaceful and Non-violent mode of resistance in Jammu Kashmir of which 18 month long famous JKLF signature campaign and 116 day long Journey for freedom programs are glittering examples which were even acknowledged and appreciated by Indian, Pakistani and the international leadership. Butt sahib said that the leadership of both India and Pakistan along with the international community fully knows about the nature of the peaceful struggle of JKLF and Yasin Malik but still Indian rulers chose to ban JKLF and put Yasin Malik behind bars that too on frivolous and concocted charges. JKLF acting chairman said that the Indian rulers want to terrorize Kashmiris by unleashing reign of terror and taking illegal and undemocratic measures like arbitrary arrests and banning of political parties. He said that ironically the international community especially USA, UK and EU have preferred to maintain a total silence on all these Indian acts which in other words means a direct support to these illegal and undemocratic oppressive measures taken by India. JKLF acting chairman said that JKLF being a strong organization that has its units and roots all over the globe cannot and will not remain silent on Indian aggression against JKLF and its chairman and we will launch a sustained campaign in this connection. He directed all JKLF zones to enhance their efforts in this regard and start “Free Yasin Malik” and “Lift Ban on JKLF” campaigns throughout the world. It is pertinent to mention that after this very meeting all the JKLF zonal committees and JKLF diplomatic bureau also held separate meetings and have decided to hold rallies, sit-in and other programs outside Indian Embassies’, UN offices and other important places throughout the world. According to the program, JKLF leaders and activists will hold protest rallies on 13th July 2019 throughout the world and demand immediate release of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and lifting of ban from JKLF.
Meanwhile JKLF acting chairman has in strong words condemned the attack on the house of incarcerated resistance leader Moulana Sarjan Barkati at Shupian. It is worth to mention that some masked men attacked the house of Moulana Sarjan Barkati and tried to kill his wife by strangulating her but by Allah’s grace she escaped this murderous attack. Terming this attack as shameful, JKLF acting chairman appealed human rights bodies to look into this matter and safeguard the lives of the relatives of those incarcerated. It is again important to mention that Moulana Sarjan Barkati is in jail from 2016 and so-called Indian democracy has slapped repeated PSA’s on him.
