MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The AJK Legislative Assembly resumed its session here on Tuesday with deputy speaker Sardar Amir Altaf in chair.
MLA Nasima Khatoon in her call attention notice urged for setting up a regulatory authority in private educational institutions which could review the enhanced fees and other facilities. Replying to it education minister Barrister Iftikhar Gillani said private institutions should be viewed as a partner. He said these institutions are also a source of employment to educated youth. He assured that regulatory authority was being made more effective.
Replying to another call attention notice of MLA Saghir Chughtai, minister for higher education Col. Retd. Waqar Noor said that three papers of first year were out. They were not out from board rather from a center and have been repealed, he added. He clarified that FIR was registered against the defaulters, adding that one of the accused was under arrest. He said an inquiry was underway in this connection after which strict action would be taken against the defaulters.
To another call attention notice of MLA Saghir Chughtai, minister for electricity Raja Nisar Ahmed said that power outages in AJK were pretty less than Pakistan. He said sometime load shedding is done due to repair in grid station or its being tripped. He said power is curtailed in accordance with its issued schedule.
The law minister presented the standing committee report on three bills which were unanimously approved by the House. The bills include “AJK Family Courts (Amendment) Act 2019”, “The Federal Public Service Commission (Repeal) Act 2019” and “AJK Members of Election Commission (Terms and Conditions) Act 2019”.
