LAHORE:    Lahore High Court (LHC) has extended interim bail of opposition leader in Punjab Assembly (PA) Hamza Shahbaz till April 17 in money laundering case.

Interim bail plea of Hamza Shahbaz came up for hearing before a 2-member bench of LHC presided over by Justice Shahzad Malik on Monday.NAB team was also present in the court.

PML-N workers chanted slogans in the court.

Justice Shahzad Malik while expressing displeasure over it remarked why the workers have been called. Controlling them is whose job. It will not be tolerated if it is repeated.

The court inquired how many cases are against Hamza Shahbaz. NAB authorities are where.

NAB replied accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income and Sugar Mills case are against Hamza Shahbaz.

The court inquired from NAB “ You want to arrest Hamza Shahbaz in which case.

NAB replied Hamza Shahbaz has to be arrested in accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income case.

NAB also said arrest warrants have not been issued so far in Saaf Pani and Ramzan Sugar Mills cases.
Counsel for Hamza Sharif said the court had ordered to inform 10 days prior to arrest.

NAB prosecutor said Supreme Court had remarked it was not necessary to inform before making arrest.

Justice Shahzad inquired had you challenged high court order pertaining to 10 days.

NAB prosecutor said we have done every thing as per law.

NAB prosecutor prayed the court to give an early date.

The court remarked case is still at the stage of notice.
Azam Nazir Tarar, counsel for Hamza Shahbaz said NAB has tried to arrest without giving any notice. His client is opposition leader in Punjab assembly. If NAB has documentary evidence then it should present them. We will give reply.
NAB prosecutor said there is no need to inform in advance under the Supreme Court orders. The offence is non- bailable under NAB laws.

The LHC while extending the interim bail till April 17 ordered him for filing surety bonds worth Rs 10 million.
