Rawalpindi:    Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) has prepared a new “summer season water plan” in order to maintain smooth water supply to citizens in summer season.
Under this plan, 440 tube wells of WASA will be kept functional 100 percent along with water supply from Rawal Dam and Khan Pur Dam.
Additional 30 water motors are also being obtained for this purpose.
Almost daily 25 to 35 tube wells remain closed in WASA on the basis of different reasons.
Under this plan, payment of bills will be made on time.
If any motor becomes dysfunctional then it will be made functional within one hour.
In case of load shedding, timings of water supply will be changed.
Water supply to each and every street and Muhallah has been declared mandatory for 1 to 2 hours.
MD WASA Muhammad Tanveer said that implementation has been started on this plan.
On the other hand, WASA has also prepared an amnesty scheme for water pilferers, illegal connection holders and those who install domestic connections instead of commercial.
Chairman RDA said that we will give one month concession in the campaign during which consumers would be able to regularize their connections without any fine and after this a grand operation will be conducted.
In this grand operation cases will be registered against the water deceits and these cases will be sent to magistrate courts.

Fines will also be imposed for the period of three years.
