RAWALPINDI: Decision has been taken to set up Model Criminal Trial Courts (MCTCs) in Rawalpindi division and other districts from April 01.
As per media reports, DG Monitoring has issued letter to registrar Lahore High Court (LHC) and DG District Judiciary LHC has issued directives sessions judges across the province including Rawalpindi region.
Monitoring cell has been set up. District and Sessions judge Sohail Nasir Islamabad has been appointed DG.
All murder and drug related cases will be transferred to these courts.
Directives have also been issued for appointment of additional staff, provision of internet connection and central wireless control system and nomination of focal persons.
