ZHOB: Noted poets, writers and seasoned politicians while speaking at a literary function held at assembly hall, termed the newly published poetry and short stories collection, a valuable addition to Pashto literature.

The function that was organized by Pashtana Mutaraqee Leekwal (Progressive writers) was aimed at celebrating Nowruz (Yakhtar) here on Thursday.

The newly two published titles were included Pashto poetry collection ‘Tappay Pur Dewaluno’ and short stories collection ‘Rabrin Langari’ of young Pashto poet and fiction writer Bahar Nasar. A large number of poets, writers and literature lovers attended the launching ceremony.

Professor Hunarmal Kakar, Sharif Sherani, Gran Walat Mandokhail, Nasim Mandokhail and Shahim Kakar critically analyzing various aspects of the newly published books penned by Bahar Nasar, termed a good addition to Pashto literary treasure trove and a fine reflection of the Pashtoon society.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party Qayyum advocate, Sain Anwer Sherani, Abdul Khan Wyalawal, Salam Kakar, Dr. Karim Mandokhail and Masroor Musakhail congratulated Bahar Nasar and said that the writers and poets are valued assets of the society as they have a great contribution in promotion of language and literature.

“The writers and poets always strived hard to promote language and literature without the government patronage, despite the fact that it is the state responsibility”, they said.

“The second poetry book authored by Bahar after his first poetry collection ‘Mosamuna Khu Badlezhi’ that comprises ghazals and poems, showed remarkable improvement in his poetic journey,” adding he is a revolutionary poet, who has always fought for the humanity and justice through his poetry. They added.

The author Bahar Nasar thanked and wished all the participants Nowruz 1398. He also presented books to the guests including journalist Rafiullah Mandokhail.

Meanwhile, sharing the importance and great significance of centuries-old festival of Nowruz, Muhib Sheraz – the progressive writer and activist in his keynote address said, Nowruz means new day and it marks the beginning of a new year that heralds the arrival of spring.

“Pashtoons have rich history and culture and they are hospitable, peace-loving people and believe in non-violence,” he said.

In the second segment of the ceremony, a poetry session (mushaira) also held that enthralled the literature lovers and participants. Habib Romaan, Saeed Hariphal, Hamdard Alamgir, Hussain Alam Mandokhail, Umer Charagh, Siraj Romaan, Faraz Gul Hariphal, Tanha Wazir, Gran Walat, Hassan Tuniwal, Razzaq Baryal, Imran Khan, Sharif Sherani, Samsoor Kakar, Razziq Jar Kakar, Suhail Hariphal, Sparlai Afghan, Nasim Mandokhail, Saleem Sagar and Qurban Pashtoon presented their ghazals and poems, drawing laud applause from the audience.
