MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chief Justice Justice Ch. Ibrahim Zia who is also Chairman Islamic Ideology Council has called upon Ulema and religious scholars to mould the lives of the people in AJK in accordance with the Quranic teachings.

He was addressing a one-day joint meeting of Islamic Ideology Council (IIC) and Ulema-O-Mushaikh Council Jammu and Kashmir organized by IIC here on Wednesday. Its topic was “Role of Ulema in setting up of Islamic Welfare State at present”. He was of the view that Ulema could play an effective role for transforming people’s lives according to Seerat-e-Tayyaba, supreme Islamic values and to end social maladies and injustices. He urged the Ulema to give their suggestions within a month for setting up of Islamic Welfare State and society so that IIC with its recommendations could send them to the government or concerned institutions for implementation.

He said uniform educational syllabus was imperative for Islamic Welfare State. He urged Ulema-e-Karam and educational experts to give their collective suggestions for betterment of education. It would help formulate a collective syllabus of education, he added. He said Ulema could also play great role for religious harmony, society based on justice, and moulding the society to the essence of Islam.

Quoting the last sermon of Holy Prophet, he said it contains complete teachings on Islamic Welfare State.

The meeting was addressed by AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan, Chairman Ulema-o-Mushaikh council Ubaidullah Farooqi, Moulana Saeed Yousuf, Moulana Qazi Mehmoodul Hassan Ashraf, Moulana Kafayat Hussain Naqvi, Syed Ishaque Naqvi, Syed Ateequr Rehman Shah, Moulana Qazi Shahid Hameed and Secretary Islamic Ideology Council Syed Nazeerul Hassan Gillani.
