Islamabad: Interior Ministry has rejected the petition seeking to remove name of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif from the Exit Control List (ECL).
Separate applications seeking to remove name of ousted PM Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain Safdar were submitted to interior ministry in October last year.
Applications were filed at the time of their release on bail.
It has been said in the application that reasons stated in rule 2 of Exit from Pakistan 2010 are not applicable to them as they were not involved in crimes like, terrorism, economic offence, or any conspiracy like that.
