MIRPUR: (Parliament Times) The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Secretary Social Welfare Khawaja Muhammad Ahsan said rehabilitation of drug addicts in AJK is top priority of the government.
He made these remarks during his visit to Drug Addicts Rehabilitation Center here on Thursday. The center has been set up in Mirpur by social welfare department where in entry of drug patients, medicines, food and accommodation have been ensured free of cost.
Director Social Welfare Abdul Wahid, Assistant Directors Shakeel Khan and Abdul Hameed were also present on the occasion.
Hameed also gave detailed briefing to the Secretary on the center. Ahsan met with the under treatment patients and their families and lauded the performance of the staff posted there. The patients of the outgoing families thanked the Secretary that such a center which was dire need of the area was set up in Mirpur. The families said drugs spoil the lives of the youth who needed to be treated properly in rehabilitation center to make them a useful citizen.
