NEELUM: A woman Sajida Bibi was martyred when Indian occupation forces opened unprovoked shelling from across the LoC on Athmuqam and surrounding areas on Thursday.
Divulging details of the incident the Deputy Commissioner Neelum said that Indian forces in violation of ceasefire opened indiscriminate firing targeting Athmuqam and surrounding areas, martyring an innocent woman who was resident of Bigna. The people who are exposed to Indian forces shelling have been directed to move to safer places while educational institutions have been closed due to firing, he said.
Pakistani forces gave a befitting response to unprovoked Indian forces firing, he told.
He said that officials of district administration, police, district disaster management authority (DDMA) and district headquarter hospital remained high alert to cope with any emergency situation. The DC added that an emergency cell has also been set up for any emergency or information by DDMA.
Meanwhile the AJK President Sadar Muhammad Masood Khan, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir and Information Minister Mushtaq Minhas strongly denounced Indian forces unprovoked and indiscriminate firing on Athmuqam.
