ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari now stand expelled from politics for ever and only suspense left in their life is this they will spend their remaining days of life in jail or in their homes.
“Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari have fought the last election of their life and now the suspense in their life is that they will spend remaining days of their life in jail or in their homes. They had come to power without struggle and Imran Khan had to reach this position after a struggle spanning 22 years”, he said this while talking to media men outside parliament Tuesday.
He went on to say Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan is working for establishment of state of Medina. All will have to be accountable in state of Medina. No matter he is minister or some one else all will have to pass through process of accountability. Curtailment in expenses and auction of vehicles this all is being done for the first time, he added. Therefore, criticism will come and on the other hand only criticism has been left as pivot of PML-N and PPP politics, he added.
He underlined that the selfless efforts of PM can not be questioned as it has been the pivot of his politics that all should be held accountable.
He remarked “ we have no political target and nor are we facing any political challenge at present. Our challenge is only good governance and economy because we have inherited a hollowed Pakistan with stagnant economy.
He observed people criticized when Imran Khan had sold buffaloes that the national economy would not be corrected due to sale of buffaloes and vehicles. This was also in our knowledge but the step was taken to give message to ministers this government would not be like the past governments and all will have to be answerable. This has happened so. During the meeting of cabinet, PM Imran Khan asked questions from every minister about his performance. All the ministers informed PM about his 100-day performance.
Imran Khan has deep realization about every penny of nation, he said. PML-N and PPP are not political challenge for us, he added.
Over 40 million rupees were spent on the treatment of former PM Nawaz Sharif, he said adding Rs 40 million were spent in respect of PIA aircraft which had taken Nawaz Sharif and returned to Pakistan empty. Not a single brick has been used in the constructions made in Jati Umra out of their own pocket.
