Doctors of Sindh working in Health Department Government of Sindh are facing certain issues from time to time but due to the slow process of the health department, community feeling not well for that exercise.
On 31-3- 2018 HON. Supreme Court of Pakistan has passed the orders to solve the grievances of Doctors on a petition of Dr. Muhammad Usman Mako. Many of the issues were partially solved but still a lot of remaining.
A delegation of Peoples Doctors Forum (PDF) Sindh met Honourable Minister Health Dr. Azra Pecuho on Friday and discusses the issues of doctor’s community.
PDF submitted the issues in relation to the decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
There are 288-Seats of Senior Medical Officers are still vacant for promotion BPS-18 to 19 under 4-tier formula for Board II. 781 Doctors were promoted on 28th March 2018 out of 1069 and presently many more seats are vacant due to the retirement of Doctors. DPC for promotion from BPS 17 to 18 was not held for two years and more than 2000 seats to be filled. Working paper for Proforma Promotion for BPS-19 to BPS-20 is ready and need to get the date from HON. Chief Minister of Sindh for Board I.
Working paper for deferred cases of Proforma Promotion of BPS-18 to BPS-19 may need to be submitted from the Health Department before Board II for early promotion. Time Scale for Doctors may be implemented as orders by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Committee formed by S&GD for Health Professional Allowance (HPA) and Other allowances, may be done immediately to send the summary to Honourable Chief Minister Sindh. Notification of Contract Doctors, BBSYDP and MNCH for regularization is still pending; whereas Sindh Assembly already passed Bill for Regularization Act-2018.
Peoples Doctors Forum also submitted a request for promotion of Consultant of ENT, Eye, Anesthesia of BPS-18, were not promoted since many years and working paper is ready that may be sent for Board II.
Presently Dental Surgeons post are more than 500 in the Health Department Sindh and that is UN sufficient for the population of the province. WHO recommended the one dental surgeon for 15000 populations. PDF requested to increase the posts of Dental Surgeon as per WHO.
Honorable minister Health listens to the doctor’s issues and assure them that their grievance will be solved and all the promotion will be done immediately.
PDF pointed to the Honourable Minister that department is very slow and due to that reason doctors are going to be retired from their job without availing the next grade. Minister health promised to help Doctors Community as earlier as possible.
Peoples Doctors Forum Sindh thankful to Minister Health for her valuable cooperation and giving precious time to listen to the genuine grievances of Doctor’s community and hopefully Doctors of Sindh will get the benefit of PPP government in Sindh. PPP government always tried to help the Doctors in employment, promotions, incentives, regularization and other issues from time to time.
