Lahore : Punjab government has decided to construct some 2,500,000 houses in the entire province.
The work on the project would be kicked off within two months or so.
The Prime Minister , Imran Khan had also handed over the task to provincial government by giving the approval of construction of the houses for the shelter less people. These homes would cover the area of two , three and four marlas and would consist of two , three and four rooms.
The houses, after construction would be allotted to three categories that is laborers, lower middle class and middle class category. Labour class would be provided flats while houses would be allotted to lower and middle class. The price of the houses would be approximately Rs 1 million to Rs 1.2 million for the alottees . The construction of flat would be carried out on the pattern of Bangkok , Singapore and Hong Kong.
In Lahore these houses would be made in the place of official quarters by demolishing them at the vicinities of Chuburji and Wahdat Road and those government servants who are residing in these quarters would be provided substitute residence .
