Bradford: The former president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and central leader Pakistan Peoples Party-AJK chapter Sardar M Yaqoob Khan while expressing his serious concern over the political and human rights situation in occupied Kashmir has said that India was hell bent on to changing the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir by revoking article 35-A of the Indian constitution that guarantees special rights to the state subjects.
The former AJK president said this while talking to participants at a dinner party hosted in his honour by Raja Sheeraz Khan and Raja AD Khan in Bradford on Tuesday. The dinner party was attended by Lord of Bradford, former counselors, political and social activists, whereas members of overseas Kashmiri community were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion he strongly denounced the brutalities inflicted on the people of Kashmir by Indian forces. Seeking an end to Indian atrocities in the held territory, Khan said that Kashmiris were fighting for their inalienable right, the right to self determination guaranteed to them by the international community. He also urged the world community to play its due role in resolving the lingering dispute in line with the UN resolutions. Terming Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle as a legitimate freedom movement he regrettably noted that the UN being the custodian of peace and justice has miserably failed to stop genocide of Kashmiris at the hands of Indian occupation forces.
