Rawalakot: (Parliament Times) Describing education as a driving force to bring about meaningful changes in lives of people, Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), urged teachers and educators to impart value – based education to mould students into responsible citizens of the country.
“We should teach our children to be honest, truthful, punctual, resilient and self- confident to make sure that they grow up with firm understanding of right and wrong through learning of morals and principles,” Sardar Masood Khan said while addressing a gathering of highly motivated students of Government Girls Intermediate College Tain Sairi in Rawalakot district.
Emphasizing that social values like honesty, fairness and respect for others bring peace and order in the society that leads to progress and prosperity, President added that education without moral and social values will lead us nowhere.
Praising the students for their eagerness and passion for knowledge, the President said that individuals with such zeal are destined to reaching the zenith of success and shouldering the responsibility to change the fate of the nation.
President Masood Khan said problems always come with opportunities and only those succeed that have the courage to overcome the problems and seize the opportunities for their future generations.
While assuring the management of the school that their problems will be appropriately addressed, Sardar Masood urged the members of community, students and teachers to adopt a constructive approach based on reason to get their problems resolved.
Stating that students and teachers are architects of the future, AJK President urged them to equip themselves with the requisite courage, knowledge and skill to change the destiny of the nation and never lend ears to those who create doubts and despondencies about the future of the nation
Earlier, President AJK visited the Rural Health Center Tain Sairi where he was apprised about the condition of the building and unavailability of doctors and medicines by the members of the community. However, Director General Health Services, Dr. Sabir Abbasi who was present on the occasion told the President that two doctors, one male and one female, along with the 16-member supporting staff are performing their responsibilities satisfactorily. He, however, informed that the centres lack medicines cause problems for the people of the area.
The DG Health assured President and the members of the Community Health Department will double the quota of the medicines for catering needs of the Rural Health Center. The President on the occasion took a round of various section of the Rural Health Center to observe the facilities available for the patients.
Accompanied by Member of Jammu and Kashmir Council, Sardar Abdul Khaliq Wasi, two presidential Advisors, Sardar Ejaz Yusaf and Sardar Zahid Aziz Mughal, local PML- N leader Sardar Riaz Roshan and others community leaders, President Masood Khan on his way to Tain Sairi also visited the building of Government Higher Secondary School Sairi and inspected a publicly funded building at Khaad Bazaar Tain, which has been left unused for various reasons.
Speaking at different public gatherings, the President encouraged the people to change their attitude towards problems by forging unity to help the nation grow faster. He also asked the people that they should never overlook their responsibility towards freedom of the occupied part of their motherland where our brothers and sisters are offering matchless sacrifices to overthrow foreign rule.
The people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he went on to say are being punished for raising their voice against the oppression and tyranny, adding that “it is our national as well moral duty to support them in any way possible”.
