Muzaffarabad, ( Parliament Times) :Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Overseas Council UK Raja Javed Iqbal has said that the BJP’s success in the recent elections poses a severe threat to the unique political, cultural, and religious identity of Kashmiris. The revocation of Article 370, which granted special status to occupied Jammu and Kashmir, was first abolished by Modi, and now, in light of the BJP’s success, there will be further attacks on the identity of Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed these views while speaking to the media, stating that Kashmiris should unite to stop the political, religious, and cultural aggression of the Indian government regarding occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that the BJP’s opposition policy towards occupied Jammu and Kashmir is based on its racial bias and Hindutva ideology aimed at establishing a Hindu state. He further said that the Indian government is not only trying to erase the identity of Kashmiris but is also suppressing political activities and silencing the voices of the oppressed. He added that in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a series of harassment by the Indian army against members of civil society, religious scholars, educationists, journalists, and human rights activists continues. He said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent visits to occupied Jammu and Kashmir are mere mockery with the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the BJP government is misleading the international community about the real situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He demanded from the international community to put pressure on the Indian government and immediately restore the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, release all pro-freedom leaders and Kashmiris detained in jails, and give Kashmiris the right to self-determination
