KARACHI: Arif Nizami, President Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) has announced to constitute CPNE Editors, Journalists and Civil Society Liaison Committee.
A statement issued by Dr. JabbarKhattak, Secretary General CPNE said that the approval of setting-up Editors, Journalists and Civil Society Liaison Committee was given during a recent meeting of Standing Committee of CPNE.
According to announcement, the Editors, Journalists and Civil Society Liaison Committee’s purpose and its set responsibilities and format to promote and safeguard interests of member publications as well as liaison between Media and civil society.The committee will be liable to inform the Standing Committee of CPNE about its decisions and recommendations.
Kazim Khan, Managing Editor Daily Times, has appointed as Chairman and Zulfiqar Ahmed Rahat, Chief Editor Daily Hot Line has been appointed as Deputy Chairman of CPNE Editors, Journalists and Civil Society Liaison Committee, while Group Editor of Daily Express Mr. Ayaz Khan, Tahir Farooq (Daily Ittehad), Arif Baloch (Daily Balochistan Express), YousufNizami (Pakistan Today), Hamid Hussain Abidi (Daily Amn), ImtiazAlam (Monthly South Asian Journal), Ghulam NabiChandio (Daily Pak), Maqsood Yousufi (Daily NaiBaat), Abdul Khalique Ali (Online News Agency), Abdul Rehman Mangrio (Daily Indus Post), IlyasShakir (Daily QaumiAkhbar), Shakil Ahmed Turabi (SABAH News Agency), MuzaffarEjaz (Daily Jasarat), Bashir Ahmed Memon (Daily Nijat), Owais Aslam Ali (Monthly Outlook), Aslam Khan (Internews Agency), Mansoor Korai (Daily Waka), Ali Bin Younus (Daily Beopar), JavedMehrShamsi (Daily Kaleem), Syed SajjadBokhari (Daily Abtak), Mumtaz Ali (Monthly Crime Zone), NasheedRaee (Daily QaumiAwaz), MehmoodAlam Khalid (Monthly Farozaan), SardarNaeem (Daily Quaid), Wazir Zada (Daily Dhun), Syed Shams-ud-Doha (Daily Alfalah), AbidAleem (Daily Millat) and HameedaGhanghro (Daily AwamiAwaz) would be the members of the committee.
