Karachi: Anti-terrorism Court (ATC) has granted the bail to Rao Anwar in possessing illegal arms and explosives case.
The bail was also granted earlier by the court in Naqeeb Ullah murder case. The court had ordered him to deposit surety bond of worth Rs 1 million but he could not be released as he was granted bail in the cases for holding illegal arms and explosive material.
The hearing of the case pertaining to the use of illegal arms and explosives was conducted in Anti-terrorist court Karachi on Friday and court approved the bail of the accused.
Court ordered Rao Anwar to submit the surety bond of Rs 1 million and he has submitted. The bail of the accused has been expected after the submission of surety bond.
It is to be mentioned that former SSP Malir Rao Anwar has killed Naqeeb Ullah Mehsood along with three other persons declaring them terrorists.
Later the pictures and other fun activities of 27 years old Naqeeb Ullah on social media account made him famous and Pakistani media also take up the issue.
Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari raised his voice in connection with this matter and ordered Interior Minister Sindh to take action.
The father of Naqeeb Ullah had registered the case while declaring the encounter fake and requested to arrest the police officer terming Naqeeb Ullah innocent.
In the initial report, the name of Rao Anwar was placed in ECL after recommending to dismiss him from his post while CJP took the suo moto notice of this case .
Accused Rao Anwar hid himself for some time however suddenly on 21st March he appeared in court where the court ordered to arrest him.
