Kabul: At least nine people were killed and three others wounded in a suicide attack in Kunar province in the east of Afghanistan.
The explosion happened at around 8pm Kabul time in Sawkai district on Monday evening, local officials confirmed.
The incident occurred when a suicide bomber detonated his explosive near a check post of Afghan Local Police in the district, the officials said.
Initial reports said two civilians were killed and eight others, including civilians and soldiers, were wounded.
Later on, officials said eight people were killed and four others wounded.
So far, there is no information on identities of those who lost their lives and wounded in the blast.
