ISLAMABAD,  (Daily Parliament Times) :The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and GLOBSEC will cooperate on the preparations for the 19th annual international conference GLOBSEC Forum, which will take place in Prague at the end of August and the beginning of September. To this end, Deputy Minister Jan Marian and GLOBSEC President Róbert Vass signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on 2 May 2024.

This year’s conference will be thematically framed by the European Commission’s priorities following the European parliamentary elections, continued support to Ukraine politically, militarily, and economically, and the implementation of the conclusions of the July NATO Summit in Washington. Conference guests will also discuss the upcoming US presidential election and its significance for transatlantic and European security, Europe’s role in de-escalation in the Middle East, and the geopolitical and geo-economic impact of new technologies.
“Prague will once again be at the center of international political events at the end of the summer. The organization of the renowned GLOBSEC Forum will reinforce the prominent geopolitical role of Czechia in recent years and reaffirm that the long-term cooperation with think tanks and civil society is a traditional part of Czech foreign policy,” said Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský.
GLOBSEC Forum 2024 will take place in Prague from 30 August to 1 September 2024. This choice is the result of a long-term effort to strengthen GLOBSEC’s Central European identity and to diversify its activities across Central Europe. “The strong foreign policy reputation of the Czech government and the strategic importance of Prague make it an ideal location for promoting international dialogue and spreading the constructive voice of Central Europe. In cooperation with Czech partners from the governmental, non-governmental, and private sectors, we want to capitalize on 18 years of experience and organize a successful 19th edition of this conference in Prague,” said Róbert Vass.
