Lahore: Milli Muslim League (MML) expressed serious concern over the cancellation of MML’s registration and announced to challenge the decision in court.
In his statement, MML spokesperson Tabish Qayyum called the interior ministry’s report a stack of lies. He said, “Despite of Islamabad High Court’s clear decision, it is highly regrettable not to enlist MML. Governmental officials are using illegal and non constitutional ways to please foreign powers.”
He said, “Government is creating obstacles in the registration of MML over Indian pressure. Election Commission officials are also performing partiality by not accepting the orders of courts. MML is a peaceful political party and has right to continue its political activities, which are exactly in accordance with the law and constitution.”
He further said, “Government has not presented any justification against the party leadership, which can be used to stop registration. In addition, IHC gave clear orders to ECP for registration which has not been implemented. Millions of Pakistanis are being deprived of their basic human rights by not enlisting MML.”
